because those are Mustang mounts. They fit Mark VII's and Mustangs only. The listing that says it fits a Grand Marquis is wrong. if you've ever seen a Fox motor mount, its really obvious how different they are.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Has anyone looked into the possibility of using Chevy motor mounts? A guy told me recently that when putting a SBC in a Panther, the p/s motor mount bolts right up and the d/s mount is installed about an inch up/out. No idea how helpful that is when using a SBF, and not a lot of success so far finding pics of Caprice mounts online that look like Panther mounts, but I did just see a pic of some S-10 mounts that look similar.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

Chevys use 3 bolts to the engine block, not 2 like a Ford. Probably not particularly easy to fit a GM mount on a Ford.
The stock mounts aren't anything special, but fortunately the way they are designed, even when they go bad they won't let the motor go anywhere. It will be stopped by the plate on the engine side of the mount. Unless you're at silly power levels and/or hemmorage lots of oil they hold up OK. My old ones were jello, but that was incredible oil leakage for a long time.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

I meant the lower part of the mount; the upper part of the SBF mount, as you know better than I do, is a separate piece that is not provided when you order a "motor mount" (or at least, it wasn't in my case) ... therefore, my thought is that if the upper portion of the Ford mount could be attached to a Chevy lower with the stock through-bolt, it could potentially be a match.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!
