they do have a huge sail area, so crosswinds are definitely a problem, but those crappy tires were probably not doing you any favors either.

My old Malibu with the drag/strip suspension was a lot more stable on the highway than the CV, even with 50 mph head/crosswinds. The Speedway spring swap changed all of that. When I get some cash from the next check, I'm going to the JY to get the front sway bar and a few other items.

I found a CS wagon mixed in with the Chevys at the JY. It still had tires on it so I could get at the front swaybar. It measures out to approximately 1-3/16. I called PST and they said that they only have 1-3/16" bushings for the '92-'02 Crown Vics. Are the U-shaped bushing brackets that bolt to the frame on the aero CVs different from the aero box wagons? Hopefully they're the same and I can just order this stuff.

think those brackets are all the same. I got the same runaround with the sway bar sizing when I bought my bushings.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

************Painting Question***************
There is a little plastic insert/sleeve at the end of the front swaybar by the end link mount. What is this for? I have the sway bar set up and I'm waiting for the cover of darkness to paint it. Should I take the sway bar down and cover the insert?

I took a close look at the sleeve thing and I think it might be some sort of heat vent since the sway bar is tubed instead of solid.
I got the bushings today and they look like they're a go. For you box Panther owners, measure your sway bar and order bushings for the '94-'04 Crown Vic/Grand Marquis. The bushings that I got for my 1-3/16" front sway bar are part # 9.5171G from Performance Suspension Technology. I just have to get some new chassis bolts and I'm good to go.

Here's the vent thingy in question. It would be that little red button-looking thing. There's one on the bottom of each end of the sway bar.
