    Frame specs. for repair purpose

Are there any known specs for a panther frame? If a frame was out of whack and a body shop was to pull it into alignment, are there specs for this or no?
    thanks

yes, there's UMS specs for every single vehicle built since 1984. Since the Panther frame (AFAIK) remained unchanged between 1980 (which is what yours is, right?) and 1984 if you can't find an '80 Continental's specs, then find the closest thing.

You'll have to make some sort of makeshift UMS thing if you want to put those specs to work though. You could also pay a bodyshop ~$300 to measure it the right way using theirs.

EDIT: Shit though, you boxed in your entire frame didn't you? Yeah, you just eliminated all the holes and features that is used to take measurements with a UMS system.

Guess that's something to check BEFORE all the mods...

I'd actually not be remotely surprised if that frame measured perfectly before being touched, but at some point while the body was off, it got moved and tweaked itself slightly. Now with the wrapping, its probably too rigid to go back where it belongs.

its been done plenty of time, pulling a wrapped frame. but its at the frame shop, waiting to be pulled on.

10,000lbs pulling force at each arm on a frame machine is enough to pull most anything. I'd hate to hear the noises it makes pulling that frame any great distance though.

I mean its too rigid to just go back where it belongs without assistance. I'm well aware that a frame machine can put it right. In stock form though, you can probably just jockey the wheels around to get the body to line up if it doesn't want to. They're fairly flexible in their native state.

not to far, but far enough. The frame Guy said it wasn't as bad as he had thought it would be.
