that happened to my fathers caravan, it kept locking up and got hot enough that the plastic hubcap got melted to the steel rim.

You can replace that bolt with a standard bolt if you want too. I think it is a metric, but I don't recall the size. You have to use a big washer with the bolt.

Id replace the hoses too, that could be the cause of the caliper hanging up.

I've actually been told that on other cars before, that it could be the hose preventing the fluid from going back, but in this case, the hose seems to flow brake fluid just fine - and old caliper didn't want to let the piston back in, even when it was removed from the car!

You didn't let it burn long enough then, it would've freed up. We were lucky this car had turbines, I wouldn't have seen the flames if it had steelies and locking hub caps.

Hey man, I realize I put this off forever after you offered, but real life (and the weather!) kept getting in the way.

Anyway, these were taken with a crappy cellphone camera, but hopefully are clear enough - I even included one with the part number on the bag that the removal tool comes in, if that's helpful.

By the way, I meant to send this as a private message, but couldn't for the life of me figure out how to attach images to a private message the way one can do with a regular posting. Either there's something non-intuitive about it, or I'm a complete spaz.

you are a complete spaz lol. look for the thingy that says "additional options" just below the text window while preforming a private message. In all honesty i had the same problem quite some time ago.

erm, uh, that's got something to parse links, but what about actually attaching? (and I'm desperately hoping it's not staring me in the face)
