Hmm, I don't need spacers anymore....

Other than the fact I'm running 16" steelies, it looks like with the big brakes the 1" spacers aren't needed with 8" wide mustang wheels. I needed a 5/16" spacer for the 9" wheels to clear the upper ball joint though. I need to double check when I get home when it's not pouring rain.

Yup, steelies I bought from Regis(cableguy) and full covers from Nate (P72Ford)

Rockin' the even more modifed stockness now. Amusingly while Scott and I were out yesterday I saw a country squire LX with the 15" versions. Nearly impossible to tell the 16s from the 15s.

When I checked the fit of my 18" x 10" wheels on the big brakes there was a ton of room. Still needed the same offset though to fit the wwidth between the inner and outer parts. The sway bar from the 87 is the next closest part.
The 01 sway bar may have more clearance.

I did go to pricee new wheel bearings and posssibly there are 2 versions one with ABS the other with out. Anybody know if either will work. Also havent found the bearing seperate only have found it as a hub assembly. any info on this?

          Are these

          what you went with?

I looked at a 15" version once, but they were really heavy. I imagine the 16" is heavy as well. What kind of steelie did you get that was 8" wide? Ford OEM or aftermarket? Too bad you'll have to pull them for the auto-x.

I'm digging the sleeperness. Post up some pics soon for us, and don't forget some shots that show the wheel offset and width off.

What size tires are on it now?

yup, those are the hubcaps. I'm running the stock 16x7" ford steelies with 225/60/16 tires. The caps are mostly plastic and they aren't too heavy. I haven't driven it with the steelies yet, there is a problem with the drivers side front suspension. It's got a nasty clunk since the alignment. Just waiting a bit longer before getting Scott up to check it out. I'm hoping with the 16's it'll ride a bit better.

Dave, it's a one piece assembly. The hub is the bearing. I don't remember what application I got though, abs or non....I don't think there is a difference except for the exciter ring and the price.

That was my guess every one here has to order them though. Ii would rather ditch the pick wheel as it should sshed some weight as each axle assembly weighs in at 70 lbs with the upper arm attached.

The Ford dealer so far is giving me the best price for the ball joints and hubs. Well there are cheeper parts but thinking there asian. If the Ford stuff is the asian ones from advance or such might be what didnt pass Fords specs. Also might help Ford carry on.

car still has a vibration at speed. I need to get some decent tires or check the current ones and I really should get the ds balanced. other than that the car is a dream to drive....Oh and the hubcaps all squeak like hell.
