well, theres not really any good reason to do this unless you're going to forced induction, but if you use 84 Mark VII hydroboost parts, it fits together. Same master cylinder and I'll bet the 4 bolt spacing on the firewall is the same too.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

I dont know much about these but doesn't it run off your power steering pump or something?Give a man a fish and he will be fed for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will promptly forget that he once did not know, and proceed to call anyone who asks, a n00b and flame them on the boards for being stupid.

Yes it does, and seems like quite a silly mod to me and waste of space and money. Vacuum assist is more than adequate, unless you are a little old lady who cant press on the brake very hard...Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

If you're running so much cam that you produce no vacuum, the car is probably not going to move out of its own way untill you wind the hell out of the motor so around town it won't matter.
The stock brakes also lock way too easily with the vacuum boost, so honestly unless you're upgrading the brakes I would not suggest this. It would probably make the pedal far more touchy than it currently is, likely to the point of being dangerous.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

im doing the big brake upgrade and rear discs and i just thought of putting in the hydro
over the vacuum booster.the reason why is if the vac boost fails or your engine dies
you sort of have no brakes.the hydro booster also has a part called an accumulator in it that stores the pressurized fluid and allows at least one or two assisted pumps of the brakes if the engine quits running.

Only the same little old lady would have much trouble stopping in a loss-of-vacuum situation... not trying to criticize, just saying the "money/time better spent elsewhere..." spiel... but if you want it, go for it!Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

You get 2-3 pumps with assist even without the engine running if you have a good booster and there are no leaks around the check valve. I had to replace my check valve and fix a leak where it plugs into the booster to fix this on my car. I'm running an original booster and MC with my big brakes and rear disc, and it feels very nice.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
