    MKVII Questions

    What are the rear gear ratios for these cars? I am just curious, that's all. Guy down the street from me has a show-MKVII (done up, hood scoop body kit, custom interior, polished/chromed engine, etc...) that seems kinda doggish. I am wondering if the rear ratio (2.73 or 3.08?) is the issue?

        Modded, I think. At the very least he's got a cobra upper and maybe lower intake, CAI of some sort, and dual exhaust. The car sounds pretty good; sounded meaner with the bigger cam though. I'm thinking that his car is lighter than the CV; by how much I don't know. I don't know if he just has a pretty'd up HO motor or if he actually has something to it. He's gunned it B4 and not really much happens. As I have stated many times B4, I'm hoping to build a 306 for the CV that will have marginally worse gas mileage than the lopo and be able to at least do a nice burnout when I punch the gas.

          3.08 or 3.27 usually. traction lock optional. Nothing special.

            I guess it would be a real pisser for this guy if I turned my mom's CV into a looker and something that can actually run as well.

              3.08 or 3.27

              1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt

                I dunno why dont you go ask your neighbor with the doggish mark vii what gear ratio he has?? he most likely wont know either and then you can both continue to stare at how beautiful it is..

                  Can't do it. The guy has something against me; probably because of the Malibu; his son and his nephew used to rave over the old POS and not really pay much attention to his show car. I would help him out with his cam and all that, but since he's a dick, I ain't sayin nuttin. Just gonna build up mom's CV enough to beat his car with her driving.
