The UPS man delivered my QA1 front shocks and I installed them today. I really like how the 925 springs & QA1 shocks have stiffened up the ride (it feels sporty). With the wide tires on the 18 inch rims I have plenty of grip, but I am going to have to roll the front fenders with my eastwood fender roller. If I turn too fast and compress the front suspension it does rub a little, but if I go slow the front doesn't rub. When I install my k code axle I'm going to install the rear tru-coil 300 springs, but I still need some new rear shocks. What is the correct QA1 rear shocks for a box? Any suggestions on the COMPRESSION-REBOUND (4 or 5) for the rear?

Thanks everyone, I plan to take some more pics tomorrow to post in the Reader's Rides section!

The QA1 shocks for most Fords & 79-83 Mustangs is FC7884P or FC7885P and they look like they will work for the rear. The compressed length is 13" and the extended length is 21" and from the FAQ that is close to the stock rear shocks.

A QA1 STS2501PX rear shock is closer to the stock shock than the FC7884P or FC7885P. The STS2501PX has a extended length of 19.5" & a collapsed length of 12.5". That is very close to the stock rear shocks and these are adjustable.

I finally realized that the rear QA1 shock part number is listed under the front shocks in the FAQ.

What size are the front tires? Same as the rear. You should install the springs then measure between the shock mounting points.

Your tierod links loo to be a diffetent angle / height than the lower control arm ... may cause bump steer. Could just be the picture angle.

The front tires are 255/45R18 & the rear are 285/40R18 mounted on 4 18x9.5 rims.

Almost ready for K code swap, tru-coil 300 rear springs, QA1 rear shocks, 11" rear drums, PI rear trailing arms.

I have the 1000# springs in the front of Creamy and the only QA1 shocks I could find were to long. The Afco 1020s were the only ones tat worked out to be at mid travel at static ride height.

Just looking at the extended & collapsed length the QA1 is shorter?

                                QA1 FC1948P
                                Extended Length 13.360"
                                Collapsed Length 9.090"

                                AFCO 1020
                                Extended Length 15.500"
                                Collapsed Length 10.5"

I was lazy and just ordered the front shocks from the FAQ. I liked the QA1 since I can revalve the shock.
