    replaced rear shocks, rubbing noise

Yesterday, I replaced the rear air shocks on my '91 GM with standard OEM KYB brand shocks. Ran the car around for a few errands and everything was fine. Today, I was coming home from work, and everytime I made a right turn through an intersection (the ones with the dips), I heard a rubbing noise coming from the back of the car. The tailpipe was loose at the glasspack, so I put a new clamp on. Thought maybe the tailpipe was hitting the upper control arm. Got the tailpipe clear and snug, but there's still a rubbing noise when the car flexes in right turns. New shocks are clear of everything and the bushings seem to be seated just fine. Only other thing I did to the car yesterday was adjust the rear brakes, but I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with it. I'm open to ideas on this one.

Edit: I should mention that the '91 has newer stock rear coil springs, so it's not saggy or jacked way up.

Could be the tailpipe moving over just enough to rub the spring on a turn. Its fairly tight in there and if its not exactly so, it'll hit sometimes.

I had that same noise on my car. It has since gone away, but I believe it was the dust cover rubbing on the shock body. I have scrapes on the shock to substantiate...

For weeks ... WEEKS ... I've been chasing this sound. What was it? Right rear spring was turned just enough to rub the washer on the nearest body mount. Turned the spring half a turn and the problem was solved. Good grief.
