    OK?

Thanks for all the stickies and all the information whithin. I read through them all and I learned a thing or two. Here is the thing. The information is overwhelming me a bit. I have a simple question. I have an 82 LTD country squire. The front end is up in the air and is ready for the energy suspension bushing that are on their way. While I have it all apart, Im want to get some better front coils. From what I read in the stickies, I have the 443lb (wagon) rate springs. I just want a recomendation for some highER performance springs. Not circle track, or anything from a chevelle or camaro, just something for the street that doesnt feel like jello. It seems that a spring in the 900 lbs range seems to be popular with you guys. Any recomendation????

Big Brake swap and front suspension completed.

    You're welcome

Some stock replacement springs for a newer panther 98-02 will fit the bill. However, they are a bit tall and will need to be trimmed to get to the stock ride hieght.

Anything in the 1000# range will pretty much make it ride like a Honda. It takes more than just stiff springs to get that teeth chattering ride. It takes stiff sidewall tires, stiff springs, VERY stiff shocks, and a rigid chassis. None of which come on any panther lol. And the chassis flexes enough on these cars to pretty much compensate for all of the others. I have 925# springs, race shocks, and have driven a good amount on Hoosier road race tires, and it's very feely (if you get what I mean) but it still wasn't teeth chattering by any means.

I went through several sets of springs before I ended up back where i started, new stock replacement springs. Nothing else had the proper ride height or rode nearly as nicely.

So, some new OE springs, good performance shocks, and poly bushings should do nicely??? or, should I go for Stiffer coils?

Really depends what you want to do with the car. I like that nice soft ride and proper ride height. If you want it to handle better, you'd want higher rate springs. Myself, I'll give up some corner carving for being able to cruise 13 hours at a shot without being in pain when I get there.

Yeah, I can only do 10.5 hours and feel refreshed. If you could find 600-700 lb/in springs I'd think that would be perfect middle ground. My car with some softer springs would be great.

I had 700s, car rode horribly and sat stupidly high. The 425s were ok but the car sat all low and I got tired of it chewing tires on the fenders. Lincolns need different springs to deal with their added bulk and get the right ride height. Of the 4 sets of springs i've had in the car, only the originals and the current stock replacement ones have put the front end where it belongs. I'm content with my 390s up front and my 23 year old wagon coils in back. It handles much better than stock, but it still wallows compared to a lot of things. It suits my driving fine though. To each their own, but I like that blue hair special ride package.
