You may have to clearance the sharp edges on the inside of the fender lip, but nothing that will effect the appearance at all. It will make the stance much more aggressive as it will have that 'pit bull' wide track width look. The old Western wheels on my car were like that. They had 3.75" BS but were 8.5" wide. I ran 245 up front, and personally I would recommend that instead of 255, but a 255 should clear anyways as my wheels were 1/2" farther out than yours.
Thanks, man. I'd get 245/60's and run 'em on my 7"-ers, but finding a good tire in 245/60 is proving to be difficult.

Done that, worked OK even with 255 tires. These 8.5s must be more radical, as they're having rubbing tendencies where the old ones didn't. Judging from the battle scars on effectively year-old tires, I probably shoulda got 245/60 front and 295/50 rear this time around.

So happens 87lxcoupe has the exact same wheels I ran for a few years, with the same model tire (Radial T/A). Can't remember for sure what tire size he has, though...

I have 255/45's Kumho Ecsta's on the front of my linc with 8" wide wheels. Id rather have the wider than taller wheels in front with as much weight as we're pushing into a turn...
