well, last night the fucker went totally flat overnight. Filled it Wed night before I went out, today at lunch its real low (in my driveway, I didn't drive it), and tonight the car was sitting on the rim. I had to jack the thing up by the sway bar frame bracket because those piece of shit springs sit so low I can't fit a jack under my car if the tire goes flat. Tire is off and in the back of my truck to get dealt with tomorrow. I checked what I could check for leaks, nothing at the bead, no bubbles at the valve stem, and I don't see anything obviously pierced through the tread. Hopefully dunking it in the big trough will make the leak show up, and i hope its fixable. If its leaking from where the fender caught some of the tread on the edge of the tire, I guess I'll be buying a new tire.

I had a nail near the sidewall of one tire in my old car once and my Dad put a tube in it. I don't know how half-assed of a repair that is but it worked for as long as I had the car.sigpic

i've plugged sidewalls before. Not supposed to though. I stuck it in the trunk as my spare and ran the spare for a while till I had moneys to replace them. Actually those were the tires on the car when I got it. 4 mismatched half bald tires.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

yay for shit springs. the fender tore a chunk out of the tread right on the edge of the tire, that was my leak. Its plugged, and I rotated the tire to the back so it won't be catching on the fender. No idea if its gonna hold, but we'll see. If it doesn't hold, I've got a spare I can run till I can replace the tire. Actually I probably would end up getting a set. The two old front tires have a fair amount of treadwear, and then the one with the plug on the corner. If not for the bad alignments that I had done, the tires would be wearing OK, so I can't really fault them.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
