Did any Town Cars have an aluminum driveshaft I can use on my '89? I can use a combo joint if needed (that's what I did on the wagon)... gonna be swapping U-joints soon and want to go aluminum if I can find one. It doesn't hurt as much when they fall on me.

I'd bet you could get one from a newer Town Car to fit...at least on the new ones, all of 'em come with aluminum shafts, don't they?

I'm gonna keep looking and hoping I get lucky. I'd imagine it would possibly improve mileage.2011 Mustang GT Premium, MT82, Kona/Saddle, HIDs, 3.73s, 19s, hood/side stripes, UPR 1.5" springs with adjustable panhard bar, and UMI solid LCAs and relocation brackets.

The one I had on my wagon was from a '95. Just have to swap the yoke and pinion flange adapter to the later model shaft using a combination U-joint. $30 for an aluminum driveshaft ($15 for shaft, $15 for joints) is hard to argue.2011 Mustang GT Premium, MT82, Kona/Saddle, HIDs, 3.73s, 19s, hood/side stripes, UPR 1.5" springs with adjustable panhard bar, and UMI solid LCAs and relocation brackets.

 ,that could end up being very bad.......unless the owner never looks under the car and are pretty much completely clueless about what they have.

It's actually not uncommon at all to find aluminum driveshafts on Box Townys in the yards around here, almost all of them have been damaged beforehand though.Like I said I've only found 3-4 Which were not damaged, and 2 of those had been pulled prior to putting the car on the Forklift and thrown inside the car.I didn't bother getting them for myself because I'm fine with the stock steel shaft for now.
Scott,I really wish I would have known you were interested in them. The last time I was there 2 weeks ago, there was one already pulled,in mint condition, sitting inside of a 91 Marquis.I figured no one here would be interested after they saw how much the total w/ shipping was gonna be.I'll be on the lookout for ya from now on though.

If it's for a '91 Marquis, it wouldn't fit a Town Car anyway.
