    Great auto-x, BUT......

    Good bit of carnage.

On the last morning run the motor was making all kinds of noise. Then I noticed the driver side rear wheel had fluid splattered all over the inside. Gear lube was pouring out the axle seal. Quite the mess. Did pretty well though. FTD was a 45 or 46 set by a badass C5 Z06. My best was a 50.62. I couldn't go too fast due to the rear gearing and the damn AOD. So I have a bunch of work to do to the rear axle. Not much PS fluid dumped, so I'm really happy with the cooler.

I really need to build a damn dedicated track car.

Excuse the ignorance yet again, but what's FTD?

Fastest time of the day. MrLTD, what is keeping you from building a full time track car?

I think you'd rather have a car that was built for the track, but that you could also use on the street (for an occasional thrashing). It would be really awesome if you made said car out of your CS, or another CS. The idea of a full time CS track car (with the wood trimmings of course) is totally fuckin awesome. Not that your car right now isn't totally awesome. I'd love to read about your Country Squire setting the FTD. If finances are the road block, start saving. I want to see this full time track car featured in HRM or some other popular car rag.

I'd imagine what keeps anyone from building a car, money. Or lack there-of, I should say.

Yes, money and a place to work. I am not going to hack the current car because it's my weekend cruiser and vacation car. Tempted to build the benz with a ford 4 cylinder and race that.

I'm not as excited about the MB with a ford 4 banger as I was about a CS full track car.

PS cooler did great. Hardly any spillage. Not quite sure when the next outing will be. The 13th is the next one I registered for. There are a couple more frederick events, but I'm not sure if I will be going.

All that negative camber in the rear would certainly help.
