      All CV's and GM's were 114.3.

      All Lincoln 4-Drs were 117.3. Continental/Town Car 2Drs were 117.3 as well. The Mark VI's 2Drs were 114.3.

The police frame is the strongest. Followed by the wagon, followed by the sedan. Some Lincs got extra bracing up front and in the back I hear.

I'd really like to see the frame differences. my wagon frame doesn't seem any different than the standard sedans I previously had. The towncars I have seen have reinforments.

Mike i was under both the 85 sedan and the 97 PI this weekend
, the 97 has the extra crossmember at the back edge of the frame, it is a piece of IIRC 18 or 20 ga stamped steel that caps the framerails off. they are attached at the same spot the bumper supports mount too.

Ill go out and try to get some quick pics.

Is there a list of all the frame reinforcements available for Panthers? If someone can put a list together, I can start looking for those pieces and it would really help me out.

The front and rear crossmembers are critical welded pieces of the frame, it would not be very practical to try to re-use them, you would be better off making new ones out of 1.75" .120 wall steel tubing

Same here. They are listed differently, that's all I know. I don't think there was really that much difference between a wagon and sedan frame.

Is there somewhere to order replacement crossmembers, in case they get damaged somehow?

not sure, but even if you can find one it will be expensive. a 6 foot section of 1.75" .120 DOM steel tubing is about $18 and either way it will require welding. If there is enough interest ill make some bolt on crossmembers. just a section of tube, with a plate on each end with two holes. You would just have to drill your frame and attach it with two long bolts.

I just went outside for a better look at the two. to add a factory one you would have to remove the bumper struts, cut the ends off the frame and then weld the crossmember in and then reinstall the bumper struts.

i have an idea for a bolt in one, that would require two holes drilled on each end, then the crossmember would bolt in. my design would be much more rigid and would provide much more protection in a rear end collision.

Gotta have sleeves to keep from crushing the frame when tightened. Could use the existing bumper shock bolt and drill one more...

i was looking at it and due to the angle on the rear of the frame you cant bolt through it, however there is enough room to make a bracket that mounts at an angle then you can reach inside the frame through the access hole for the body mount. this design uses bolts that are only about 1.5" long
