All lockers have the same performance result. The disengagement and re-engagement is what changes between the models. In other words when it reaches a point at which it would disengage it changes to open smoother. For the price of a locker you might as well get a torsional diff, unless you have 500hp+ or go rock crawling with your wagon. HAHA, now that would be awesome!

Also they also make Mini-Spools. it is a chunk of metal that replaces the spider and side gears in you regular carrier, does the same hob as a full spool, but are cheaper, however they are not very strong and are only recommended for dirt track and stuff like that. Im not advising anyone to use one, just including it in here to cover it.http://secondhandracing.com/Home.aspx

First of all, great write up Blaze. I know i want to upgrade to 3.55 gears and my plan was to swap a K code in because it seemed like what everyone on here had/wanted, but now i'm not so sure the trac lock is what i need. My car is a daily driver, about 60% city and 40% highway. I usually dont drive to aggressively but get on the gas someimes. What would be the advantages/disadvantages to a trac lock? It seems like it would be somewhat helpfull if i'm stuck in the snow, but are there any major disadvantages to consider? Thanks in advance...

Are they carbon or kevlar? I have some clutches in mine that cost about the same and were factory parts. They were a TSB on explorers for shudder IIRC. The spring can be upgraded to the truck spring for less slip from what I've read. I need to find out for myself. Mine was rebuild last year, and only has about 10K on it and is slipping quite a bit with the amount of power I am makingBuilder/Owner of Badass Panther Wagons
