    Rear control arm/suspension plans...

Looking into the rear suspension again, since it's the front is finished.

Planning a ripoff of maximum motorsports LCA's. Poly bushing on frame side and QA1 spherical bearing on the axle side.

Looks like a COM12 bearing for the axle side. Poly will just be some generic poly, probably something around a 95 durometer, similar in size to the stock bushing. I need to take some measurements of the stock arms to figure out the rest of the dimensions.

Dunno about the TC...I do need at least one lower control arm though. I'll probably pass on the back end of it. One of the things I was noticing was that there isn't much room back there for adding any extra links. Looks like even a panhard bar will be tough to squeeze under there with the stock gas tank.

Pete, the spherical bearing is like a hiem joint, but mounts inside a tube. I could box the stock arms and put a spherical bushing in the axle end, but I want to try making a square tube steel arm.

Yeah that fuel tank location kind of sucks. I would like to do something similar, but I was thinking just a panhard to locate the rear a bit better. I wasnt looking at anything extreme but having the rear slop around is annoying.

My exhaust doesn't help either....A panhard would be pretty easy, the kits are cheap. The shock mounts on the axle are a good mounting spot.

Whaddabout it? It's possible, of course. The packaging would be rather tight. Surprisingly not much room under the back end of these cars. I am going to start with control arms and work from there.

In my plans for my personal tudor, I'm figurin on a fuel cell for just this kinda reason. Sure the initial investment may be a bit steep, but I don't know how Im gonna get much of a suspension setup under that rear without relocating the tank to the trunk

I'm planning on getting a fuel cell as well, I'm gonna do a fuel cell swap and rear end swap at the same time so I have more room to work on the axle.

I think a backhalf job with a 4 link wouldnt bee too hard on these cars cause of the full frame and all, but I would only tub a 2dr.

With my fuel cell i can almost sit under the car with all four tires on the ground.

Unless they are very soft poly, they will cause more problems. Unless all you plan on doing is drag racing, poly on all locations is a bad idea.

I plan on using poly on one end and a com14T size spherical on the other. I need to determine the best location frame or axle side to put the spherical bearing. I've seen companies make arms with them on either end. Might just use 92-95 arms, box em, modify them for the spherical bearing and be stealthy..

Meh, the only problem I see is cracking the mounts to the frame. I don't plan on goin through the cones like you do. If it gives me troubles a trip to the yard for stock arms it is.
