yea - I like to install the wheel and wiggle it to feel for play... just tighten it untill you feel the play just barely stop then a scooch more.Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

The manual suggests that you first torque the bearings (while spinning the wheel) to 17-25 ft./lbs. (23-34 N m) to seat the bearings, then loosen it back up 1/2 turn, and tighten it to 10-12 in. lbs. (1.1-1.7 N m). Basically, just tighten it enough to get rid of the play.
Whatever you do, after you're finished, drive it a little bit and then lift the car up again and recheck the wheels for play. Sometimes they can loosen up a bit the first time.
