Rear sway bar off a police car. They are they are about 1" in diameter.

Tires are your only link to the road, tall tires with a lot of sidewalls flex alot.

Police or better springs, and a good set of shocks.

The white sway bar is a civilian Crown vic bar. the red one is a late 80's Mustang or Turbo Coupe (i dont remember which one) sway bar. The big black one is a Crown Vic police bar. i think i still have one laying around. ive got one on mine, sold one to mrltd, and i thought i pulled a third.

Yes we have. the bends are different. A mustang bar is designed to go inside the arm, where as ours go on the inside of the arms. Also the bolts holes are slightly different. I think the mustang one will work, but it will hang really low. Also that Mustang bar is one of the biggest factory bars and it is smaller than a police bar.

yea somebody used a turbocoupe bar......hefty bar, i had one on my 88 cougar

It fits, I think I used two stock holes and drilled two more. But it needed more length in in the side arms, very tight fit. Go with the police bar. Thats what the car eneded up with. I just had the fox-body one laying around from another project.

I got a 1" police rear swaybar for $8 at the u-pull place here. It was a bit difficult to get since the bolts were stuck so much. Bring a can of pb blaster and you should be fine. Installing it only took an hour or less. lift the back of the car (might not even be necessary) use something to lift the bar so you dont have to try and hold it, then put the 2 bolts in on each side. It actually helps handling a lot more than i thought it would. You can really fly around a corner with it and the ass of the car stays planted on the ground very well
