    On how to do a budget 460 hot rod. Stock car block.

    Max Investment
    2000 bucks TOTAL!!!

    (That means 1800 after the purhase!)

    First stuff,

    Disassembly, cleaning, hot tank and magnaflux. This should much about 400 or less.

      big block and low budget dont go together......... build a 351w.

      1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt
      2006 Lincoln Town Car Signature. Stock for now
      1989 Ford F-250 4x4 much much more to come, sefi converted so far.

        Best bet would be to find one of the desirable factory engines anyway, something with the good heads and such. I know not this information, someone else would tho.

          Dosen't matter, both blocks were garbage. One was locked up (much to the SURPRISE of the slavage yard, and the other had a crack that Ray Charles could have seen!)

            Go 351. Better torque.

              Yeah, a 351 can be had for a pretty reasonable price too. Extremely common in trucks. Its been heard of to do 400 hp from a 302 with a stock cam, but its certainly not cheap. I've seen Explorer motors for sale for under $500 used.

                A 351 is a stronger block anyway. Plus you can stroke one to 414 or so stock. All the torque of a mild big block and the wieght of a small block. Plus there are much fewer fitment problems, most of the stuff Ford has already done for you.
