I also got my TCI zero balance flex plate today. Anyone purchasing a flex plate in the future should DEFINATLEY go with a TCI. I compared it next to a stock one and a cheapy SFI one I had on the shelve and you can see and feel the difference. Its tremendous how much more smooth and free of weld spatter it is. Even the noise it makes when you tap it confirms its fabricated out of much higher grade, well hardened steel. Good deal for $89
you should feel an SFI balancer

Speaking of balancers, I was going to buy a TCI rattler, but my engine builder and a few friends told me they're not worth the money. I need something high end, obviously SFI approved, in zero/internal balance. Is anyone running anything name-brand thats been doing well in hard street/strip applications? I've been thinking about an ATI, but I don't know if anyone has built something to this consequence to compare to. (In our application that is, lol.)

the ATI's have a very good reputation in the road race community. those guys turn nearly 7,000 RPMs for entire races

I think that's what I'm gonna go with. ATI's are competitively priced with the rattlers and they definatley seem to have a good reputation from what I've read and heard. Yet another problem with the water pump decision though. I was going to run a mustang front drive, so I bought an M-8509-A50 underdrive pulley set. I noticed the water pump pulley isn't even close, so I'll have to sell this set I guess. Anyone know if the crank pulley from the 5.0 mustang set I have works?

Sorry, I forgot to mention I will only be running alt, p/s, and water pumpski. I saw that underdrive crank for our cars awhile back, but that f*cking thing is $150 now...

For you guys with the 4.6 2V and the 4.6 4V mod motors I went with the EMP/Stewart HP waterpump and I feel thats its the safest and most reliable alternative to the electric WP.

Heres my install thread from MM.net...

Last week I ordered a new water pump from EMP/Stewart for the 2V and 4V Ford modular engines. Summit Racing sells them for $150. Its a high performance eight vane water pump that instead of taking 10-15HP that the stock water pump robs, this mechanical water pump is advertised to only rob 3HP. IMO I feel its a safer and cheaper alternative to a electric. Install was very straight forward and easy, The most time consuming part was waiting for the engine to cool off before I can start wrenching.

You will never get much more flow than stock out of a modular motor its not the pump as much as the block
