Starts then stalls

All i did was adjust the tilt to a "better" position went to start the car and it stalled. Started again, stalled. Then, I opened the door (listen for fuel pump) I turned the key on didnt hear the pump like I normally would. Then waited a few seconds tried again and it started and stayed running.

Starter ignition switch on the column?
Fuel Pump relay?
Random electrical issue that wont ever happen again?

Ideas?

Pop the covers off the steering column. Check out the condition of the ignition switch. The little jostle from exercising the tilt may have disturbed something.

Checked the switch, seems to be intact. Crimped the metal tabs that hold the plastic piece a bit tighter. I also shook the wiring and hit the switch itself. Couldnt be replicated.

Just hoping it doesnt leave me stranded somewhere.

Keep a spare fuel pump relay with you. Could be the contacts in it getting crud built up on them.

Ebay along with many on-line auto parts store have them. I think Standard "T" line are lower quality ones so I'd stay away from them. Any others should be fine. May even find them at your local auto parts store.

actually... the parts stores carry the wells/standard versions (store brands are rebranded Standard or Wells parts) and those are as good as old stuff at this point and the contactors are clean.
