    Choke question

Hi, I have a heat activated choke but there is one wire going to it as well,
Now when the engine is cold but not running should the choke be closed? beacause if so its not. ive actualy never seen it move it just stays wide open all the time,
anyone know if this is just somthing simple? all the little rods are hooked up as well.

Choke should be at least partially closed with the engine cold and not running after you pump the throttle to set it. The spring may be bad in the heat choke, so it stays open, or the heater could be bad so it would't open and someone just cranked the choke around to get the car to go. Hard to say. Some engines want lots of choke, some do not like it.
