    Fuel Rail Question - 91 GM 5.0

    Hi,

I plan on rebuilding my fuel injectors next month (new o-rings, filters,etc.).

After removing the intake plenum, Do I HAVE to disconnect those two fuel "spring lock" couplings (supply & return)?

Would I have enough room to remove the injectors if I just remove the fuel rail hold-down screws and move the rail out of the way?

I ask because i don't want to disturb those "spring lock couplings" unless I absolutely have to.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

Yes, you'll need to disconnect them. They're no big deal and no harm will come to you or your loved ones from disconnecting them. You're more likely to kink or damage the fuel rail by trying to not disconnect those than you are just by popping them loose.

I've done it that way many time with no issues. Even if you did, those spring lock couplings are very reliable and very rarely have any issues.
