Going from Merc III to Merc V in my AX4N Taurus made a huge difference. Firmer shifts and it actually revs to redline before it shifts.

Im crunching the #s and Im leaning towards spending as much as I can on tranny fluid. Here's my thinking: I just spent a fuckload of money on a whole new (rebuilt) tranny and I want to protect that investment the best I can, and tranny fluid "sits" for 50k vs oil which is monitored reg. and changed at least 10x as often. Maybe Im just paranoid.

Change it every 30k like you're supposed to and its not a problem. Install a cooler too, and you won't have any problems. My original tranny had the fluid in it for 125k miles and still shifted fine till I caught it on fire.

Replacing stock (p71) cooler, looks like we're going with Valvoline.
