Those stock coolers are pretty small, just install a new one (as big as you can fit) and move the current tranny one to the power steering system. The power steering cooler you have now is most likely just a steel line that goes under the tranny cooler to the right side of the radiator support and then loops back, not too effective I'd say.

That's what I figured. Somehow it looks like unless I mounted the tranny cooler sideways Im limited to as to what I can put in, Im gonna measure again but it seems like theres this vertical metal piece in the way. But its not like Im ever going to do any towing. Will definately keep the old one for a PS cooler upgrade.

My tranny cooler is all the way in front of that vertical sheetmetal piece, it's actually between it and the metal bar that runs from one side of the grill to the other. My power steering cooler is in the lower passenger side corner, in front of the radiator support. The oil one can go on the left side I guess, depends on how big it is... gotta go scrapyard hunting again.

Since my mom got the '91 back, the trans still isn't working right. Sometimes, when she goes from reverse to drive, the trans will take 3-4 seconds to catch and move the car. The fuckers down at the shop just told her to "drive it a little longer". What the hell should I do, besides go down and start yelling and swearing at those assholes? I figure it's one of two things: 1. they didn't rebuild the trans and it's the same slipping issue from before; or 2. they don't want to do it 'cause the trans is under warranty.

I'm fuckin' pissed off, to say the least.

I feel stupid asking this, but did you check the fluid level?

AODs run hot anyway, and heat kills transmissions. Add a cooler, and it'll last a very long time with regular services.
Amen to that. you must have one Thank god my car has towing packege

yeah I would check the fluid first @ days ago I changed the fluid and filter and a noticed when shifting the tranny is more rough and put another half a quart and the problem went away.

Word. I would sit down and very calmly ask them to detail everything they did to rebuid the tranny and then explain to them that if they are not prepared to fix it to the customers satisfaction that you will pursue every remedy available to you under the law (better business bureau, small claims court, standing on public property outside the shop w/ a big sign saying what crooks they are, contacting ATRA and ASE (if they're members), etc.). W/ out getting angry, let these guys know you are prepared to play HARD BALL if they're not willing to do what it takes to fix things.

Yes. From what I've found out, it would seem that the shop is a bunch of crooked bastards. This will not have a good outcome.

It's my own fucking fault that my mom is in this situation, now. I knew I should have waited to get in to the BTP shop (the guys that did S.U.'s rear end), but I wanted to save her money and went with the cheaper place. Although, the place I went to was supposed to be reputable (they're the big trans shop in the area). What a load of shit.

I'm thinking I'll take the '91 to BTP and have them go through the trans and document everything they find. If they find that the trans was not rebuilt or old parts were used, I will go after the other place.

Yet, another reason why I hate being in ND. No one out here, but me.
