the MAP "senses" the vacuum the engine is pulling, from which the computer can determine how much load there is on the engine and adjust the A/F mixture accordingly (it corelates the MAP reading with the one from the TPS). Whether you have a new or an old sensor I have no idea how to tell - my Townie I'm running one from an '88 LSC, and I only know it cause I put it in there, visually they are exactly the same.Comment

yeah, I tried out like 4 of the 8 MAP sensors I pulled out of the junkyard, didnt seem to make a damn bit of difference how mine ran. Not even with a new one...Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

thats your fuel pump shutoff switch - you need that.
