you could just use u clamps to hold it together and the hangars to hold it up. make sure that the male ends face the rear so that it flows to the rear w/o the constriction of it going the other way.

The male end goes inside the felmale end. The female end is slightly enlarged so the male end will slip in.

I wouldn't use U-clamps. I like to use the clamps that wrap around the pipe. I always seem to get a better seal with those than with a u-clamp. As for the exhaust dumping right behind the muffler, your personal preferance may be overridden by what your state allows. Your state have inspections? If so they may require that you throw full tailpipes on.
Save a seal, club a liberal.

no welding required if you use parts that fit.......also u clamps are fine if you make them tight enough..........buck a clamp to 10 bucks a clamp........screw tha 10 dollar clamps, i'm cheap lol
also in most states, exhaust must not exit directly under the car, has to come out the sides or the rear

No, If you look under there, and assuming someone hasn't done some sort of butcher job on the exhast, the Y pipe will unbolt from the flanges behind the cats, and the H pipe will bolt up to those flanges. You'll need 2 2" flange gaskets for this. Clamps on either side of the muffler, and you'll need hangers for the new tailpipe and muffler on the passenger side of the car. Should only be 4 U clamps total on the whole system if you use stock replacement parts.

                        Dumped again?
Nope, i never put on tailpipes. i didnt weld the dumps on to the mufflers so one day i could put on tail pipes but the exhaust has been like this for about 2.5 years now, no complaints. and rarely ever do i get any exhaust smell in the cabin with the dumps.

Ok, back to my exhaust. If I want to do a dual exhaust starting after the cats(I don't think the cats are bad, yet) this H-pipe will work http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...pe=688&ptset=A ,but which of these mufflers will work with that H-pipe without modifying anything like the hanger location http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...=KeywordSearch ??????????

For mufflers you want the type with one offset inlet and one centered outlet, and port diameters of 2" - that is if you're doing stock sized pipes.
