I believe 96 got them. My 97 has one factory, ive pulled two more one off a 96 Town Car and one off a 96 Vic. The Vic fans are bigger than the Taurus and i believe they pull less amperage. My fans pull less than 25 amps continious

i have an electric fan in my box and well i was wondering if there is another way of wiring it up for it to turn on when the car's ignition is turned on. i have it directly wired to a switch and it works fine and all but i think it would be better to turn on by itself instead of me turning it on manually. i know of a thermostat hook up, but that only turns on when the temp reaches a certain point. so any of you guys who installed a electric fan on ur box, any suggestions...?

wiring one to turn on with the ignition is easy - you might have an acessory circuit panel to tap into like boxes, or you could just trace down the wire that turns the stereo on with the key and tap into that.
