    my elec oil psi guage is leaking

    I can't seem to find a good way to keep the damn oil pressure gauge from leaking!! First I had a mechanical gauge in there and its sender tube burned through and leaked, now I have an electric one with brass fittings to accomodate that huge ass sender, and even with tephlon tape its leaking onto the oil filter. I still have the mechanical gauge, whats the best way to fix this?

    Is it seeping through the threads? If so, you may need new brass fittings. Have you checked for any cracks?

      It's possible that you cracked the fitting. I cracked my 2.3L turbo head when I overtightened the oil pressure fitting into the head.

        How many turns of teflon tape did you put on it? I put at least four myself.

          its not leaking at the block, its around the fitting I used to couple the sender into the tube, didn't use tape I used the liquid gel tephlon.

              I used like 2 turns of teflon tape. Not a drip so far. Just have to be careful about over-tightening it. Pipe threads are on a taper, and it'll split the fittings apart if you wrench them down too hard.
