    dead car, fire, bad day

yeah, so, my passenger front brake caliper froze up on my way home, in the short(under 5 mins) i drove it once it froze, it got hot enough to catch on fire and burn up all the brake components on that side, melt the nner fender and torch a few wires, thankfully the hose was nearby, the reason i was going home was cause it ran like ass, sputtering, bucking, backfiring, died as i pulled into the driveway, tow truck just took it away, needs full brake job, calipers, rotors pads, etc, mabye more in the front, i can fix the burnt wiring and shit, as for running like shit, about 99.9% the timing somehow got nuked and is way ff, i go tomorrow morning to find out whats wrong with it and the cost of the damage, fuckin car, this is what i get for thinking of gettin rid of it, so much for goin to the dragway tomorrow...this day sucks dog balls.....

I had the front brake caliper freeze on my '90 Ranger 4x4 about a year ago. I had a small fire, but it sounds like you had a "three alarmer". Fix it and keep the car.

fender is fine, and the wheel and tire are fine, paint is charred on the rim, but its the backside, so who cares, im gonna fix it, keep the lincoln, and get a pieceof shit to drive all winter and take out my frustrations on, think ill also paint it yellow, shove a coffee can on the muffler, and steal a parkbench and call it a spoiler, helps it fly over the snow, lmao

By all means get a winter beater! They pay around here to haul Ford Festiva's out of their yard.

Sorry to hear about the fire, but at least it didn't fry the whole car, or the garage!

Cars do have feelings. My Ranger got pissed when I started paying more attention the the LTD. Freakin' OBD-II didn't know what was wrong and it ended up being the brain of the whole thing... the PCM. In the meantime, the '82 is running better than ever and getting almost as good of fuel economy as the Ranger. Sounds stupid, but WTF would a PCM go bad just randomly driving down the road in perfectly normal conditions?

That sucks. I've never had a car catch on fire, though one of my friends has had a couple cars light up. The best one was his VW Fox. We stopped the car at a gas station and put the fire out with antifreeze.
