    Goodbye Holley, Heeellooo Explorer

Finally got the '96 Explorer intake installed on my car over this past weekend. I gave up trying to find a Lightning EGR spacer, so I bought a new (professional products)Mustang/Fox body 65mm EGR spacer and throttle body. This required I change over to Fox body throttle and TV cables. A quick trip to the local pull a part and I found an un-molested Mark 7 LSC, which happily gave up its cables and D9S ECM.
Car runs so much better, throttle response is neck breaking and the engine idles smooth at 650 RPM

the intake isn't any taller than the stock intake....a 3/8 spacer should fit.

              Those injectors are orange- 19lb....

88grandmarq, what advantages does an Explorer intake give over a stock HO intake? Also about the Mark 7 cables, in my car the one for the tranny is kinda short but still works fine, and the cruise control one is way too long - how did yours fit?

The Superlinc's Explorer motor has a 1" spacer and it still has hood clearance, but just barely. 3/8" should be fine.

Ivan: The Explorer intake flows better. Its essentially a lower cost clone of the Mustang Cobra intake, but doesn't look quite as sporty. Flow is comparable, perhaps not quite as good, but its an awful lot cheaper than authentic Cobra parts.
