    TV pressure?

My tranny downshifts smoothly but upshifts a little rough sometimes. I did have the tranny fluid changed but it only helped a little. Also, sometimes it wont shift into OD unless I take my foot off the gas around 40-45mph. The TV bushing is fine, but I plan on replacing it with a lokar bushing soon anyway.

sounds like it's working ok.......aod's are a bit clunky, a harder shift is also better for them.......less slippage i have a shift kit in my towncars 193,000 mi aod, it wont shift into overdrive until i let off the gas at 50-60 mph.......i have the tv pressure almostmaxed out, or it slips the 1-2 shift at wot

Mine also runs at almost maxed out TV pressure, but it's only cause I like it to keep the gears longer - as of righ now with the 3.08 gears and stock-diameter rear wheels, and under very light acceleration, she does 1-2 at about 15-17mph, 2-3 is 30-35mph, and 3-4 at like 55-60mph. I can get her in OD earlier by letting off the gas, but even then I still have to be going faster than 45mph. All my upshifts are short and firm, and I can even feel a "bang" when she downshifts.

One question though, why replace the bushing with a Lokar one and not the $5 genuine Ford part? Or are you installing the whole Lokar kit?

I got mine maxed out, it's okay if you have to let off the gas to go in OD, I have to as well.

Vickie, my white '87, if i have her floored she wont shift into OD till she hits about 75-80mph. if i am drivin on the Hwy at about 40 , and then floor it she squawks the tires and kicks into OD around 70 or so. that is when my foot is all the way down.

She is not going into OD, it's going into 3rd. If you have not changed the read end gear, 3rd does not top out till about 150mph. Also, no AOD lets you into 4th at WOT. 4th (OD) is not built to handle WOT, so they are setup to never have to deal with it.
