I'm putting an X-Pipe on my Grand Marquis today. Anyone else running an X-Pipe on their car? I'm going with an X-Pipe, original Flowmaster 40-Series mufflers (#42443), 2.5" Impala SS tail pipes and Marauder tips. Anyone else with the same combo?

I dont think so. I was gonna run the impy tails pipes but they wont clear my tires. But my tires are some of the biggest on the board.1989 Grand Marquis LS

Get us a sound clip when you get done. I've heard that X-pipes cause a slightly higher pitch over a H-Pipe counterpart.1990 Country Squire - under restoration

I'll be running that once my damn flow tubes show up. Probably won't be using the same tips, and I've got cheapo summit turbo mufflers. If its too loud, I'll stick glasspacks on the end of the tailpipes as a resonator and put a downturn on them .86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

The car sounds GREAT!!! The idle is typical Flowmaster. Nice, deep and throaty, inside and outside the car. From idle up to around the shift into second, it gets louder then evens out. It's difficult to put into words. How do I make a sound clip? Pics will come soon.

Are you running mufflers? If you are what kind are they? I love that sound!

The mufflers are Edelbrock RPM's...they don't sell them anymore. I had to buy a complete cat back system to get the mufflers. I had the same mufflers on my 87 and it was also incredible.Builder/Owner of Badass Panther Wagons
