    install for a c4

    I was considering going to a c4 trans well b.c mine is going and its cheapers what are pros and cons aand how hard is it to install

    The biggest con is not having OD.

      Yeah, no overdrive, which amounts to asstastic highway fuel economy and you're more limited on gearing then because of how fast the engine will be spinning away in top gear. You'll also need to work something out for a kickdown, which isn't that major of an operation really. A C4 is tough but price really shouldn't be your only consideration on this. A stock rebuilt AOD is perfectly acceptable for a stock engine, and they can be made pretty strong, depending on budget and needs.

          aod = big heavy pile of crap. c4 = basic, solid automatic. wanna beat on it? get the c4. wanna cruise around and get good milage, get an AOD.

            I beat on my AOD, and it's fine. I'd stay with the AOD, just get it rebuilt.
