    Dual exhaust.

alright well I was able to get a catted H pipe off of a MKVII at the pull-a-part. My exhaust has a nice leak right before the driver side cat. and before I parked the car for the winter on of the cats or both has started to clog since I was getting the egg smell and I could feel the restriction. So my questions are. I know my car has two o2 sensors how should I go about getting both o2 sensors into the exhaust can I just get a standard o2 bung at an autozone or something and then drill and weld it on the other pipe across from the factory one? Also I know the flanges between the exhaust manifolds and the downpipes to the H won't match up from what I've read. Now I'm kind of leary doing a swap to headers cause of the engines mileage and the bolts possibly breaking and what not. also what should I do for mid pipes and going out the rear. I want the pipes to go out the rear and not dump before the axle just for personal preference. what would be the cheapest route to go? I have very little money and no job at the moment but I do need to get this car fixed cause asking for rides is getting rediculous. now after my long post if you've made it this far try to help me out.

Soak the shit outta the bolts with PB blaster, and wait a couple hours. Repeat.

    Then tackle the bolts.

If you're broke, weld the air tube shut and hollow the cats....

If you are gona run the mark7 h pipe, you can run s10 midpipes and the stock tails. The H-pipe has o2 bungs on it already. If you are running the MK7 hpipe, you will also need the mustang/mark7 headers....

Sorry to hijack the thread. Dave, are you coming to the Massachusetts meet at NED? 83tc is driving in from Springfield. You two should talk and make plans if you are going to attend. If your car isn't running, maybe you could catch a ride with him or something. Again, sorry for the hijack.

MrLtd, I need cats to stay legal in Mass. Also on this Hpipe there is only one O2 sensor bung. Our cars have 2 sensors as far as I know... also "If you are gona run the mark7 h pipe, you can run s10 midpipes and the stock tails." Stock tails off of what? the Merc? I'm only single exhaust now... just confused on going over the axle.

N A I'll have to get back to you about that. I'll go find the thread and check dates and see what I can do. Thanks to everyone else for replying aswell

            Interesting...

Well, not gonna be able to do it cheap then...

Yes, run stock tails. As for the O2 bung, you can buy those and get one welded in. Scott knows the specs on the pipes, he has run that setup. I went custom with a few "stock" exhaust parts.

I'm able to weld and can be pretty resourceful. So I need S10 mids, mufflers, and Stock dual tails? as for the O2 bung could I get that at autozone or something? I figure I just need to weld it on the opposite pipe from the factory MkVII O2 bung?

yep, just make sure its a good sealed weld so your pipes dont leak and make that annoying ticking like mine do

You must have gotten a pipe off an 84-85 CFI car. The 86 and newer all had 2 O2 sensor bungs in them just downstream of the collector. I'd also suggest not bothering with the old oxygen sensors. Aside from the fact they're 18 years old with probably way too many miles (should replace them ~60k but nobody does) the wiring will most likely be too short. Get new ones for an 88 Mark VII, which have a longer harness on them, and you'll be set.

alright I was planning on getting new O2's. So if I go to the autozone and aske for two o2 sensors for an 88 markVII the wires should reach no problem? no need to extend wires or anything?

Alright, let me recap here...sorry for being the dumbass here. I'm going for a complete 2-1/2" system. I have headers.

Nead off-road 2-1/2" Mustang H-pipe, S10 midpipes (these are 2-1/2"?), and IMPSS 2-1/2" tail pipes.

                              This correct?
