    Time for more noise

I picked up a used cat-less H-pipe the other day from someone on a local forum for a cheap $25. The guy redid the exhuast on his stang and upped the size of the pipe he was running so now I get to tear 4 cats off my merk and see how loud she growls now. Ill try to get a video or at least a sound clip for you guys once its on.

I opened up the trunk to throw it in and the guy made a comment about my 'dead body sized' trunk. lol

Cool. I found a shop near me, that come inspection time, will overlook the removal of certain exhaust components.

I also just noticed you quoted me in your sig, lol.

Okay, I got a dumb question. Whats with the 4 cat setup? Why did ford do this? Seems extremely redundant.

Tighter emission laws, perhaps. I don't think it was '85 that the 4-cat setup came out. If it was, it was late '85. Both my '85 wagons had 2 cats.

I think the early design actually had one cat for NOX and the other one for CO/HC. Later catalysts were better designed and could handle both in one shot.
