what about this to use for a carb convresion

ewww that thing is nasty, it would take some serious cleanup to get it right, carb probably needs a rebuild also. Well if you want a 2 barrell...
They did not make a Mustang 5.0 HO in 81. 81 was the 255 cubic inch engine. 82 was the first year for the 5.0 HO and it had a 2bbl carb.
Seems kind of pricey for a 2bbl. You could probably score a factory 83-85 4bbl intake and a Holley 600 vacuum secondary that needs a rebuild for under $100 off ebay.

If you want to go with a 2150 2bbl, that's fine, even though I did it I wouldn't suggest it. I got mine from Partsamerica.com for $125 IIRC. Gas mileage sucks with them. The CFM on them is also pretty low (I hear anywhere from 250-300 CFM) mine works good, but it gets pretty crappy gas mileage. I would go either 4bbl, or EFI.
