Anyone try a carburated conversion from a TBI or CFI
The Duraspark good ignition system. It's is easy to wire, cheap to buy and dependable. And if you want more performance you you can add just about any aftermarket ignition box to the DS distributor. Or if that's not enough you can step up to a MSD, Mallory or Crane distributor.
I happen to like GM HEI ignition. Points work with the proper parts mix but I wouldn't intentinally install a set in anything. I ganked them and went electronic in my Beetle too. I was just messing with y'all. Double breaker points are tools of the devil. That shit sucks.

The chevy guys are stuck using those Ford parts because none of those chevy parts work worth a damn!! So they have to be humble otherwise we Ford guys would rub that fact in thier face!!
The hei are chevy parts! Even if they are aftermarket.
I plan on using the parts that work. That's why I'm running a Duraspark distributor!!
I was thinking of changeing my 83 tbi set up to a 4bbl car set up anyone ever done it willit give me more power i ictching to get the most power out of my 302 but the stupid old fuel injection i cant do anything with
Putting a mechanical pickup in the tank and running a aftermarket low pressure inline pump is the way I went with 2 CFI to carb conversions and they worked fine. I fed the pump with the stock pump power supply wires. I ran 3/8 steel "brake" line from nose to tail. I used Duraspark II ignitions. Very cheap and simple. I personally have run Holleys exclusively in my cars when I run a 4V. The simplest CFI conversion is to run a factory Ford 2V carb from an AOD car. I used the 81/82'ish T-Bird Carbs as they ran an AOD and a 2V carb.
