    New electric radiator fan.

So I got a brand new 05 V6 Mustang radiator fan. So I spent the last day installing it. Turned out really good.

This is my old setup. I got the new fan for free because, the shroud had a chip in it. So I had to seal that missing part up to enhance the flow. I used a piece of alluminum to cover the crack. And I used slainless steel to make the brackets, and I pollished them up to make it look good.

Looks like the same fan, just a different shroud? I like the brackets. I might have to go with something thinner like that. I was looking under the hood last night, and I'm thinking that 02 CV fan I picked up might be a bit thick to clear the belts. Looks like that fan is pretty low profile and might do the job better.

It's much bigger than the old one was. The fan blade goes from top to bottom of the radiator core.

Nice mang. What kind of power/fuel efficiancy gains do you get from an electric vs. engine driven fan? I'm sure there are numerbers in a thread here somewhere, but I'm too lazy to go looking for it.

Depends on the fan. A decent amount at high RPMs. No more than 10hp max I would say. It is better for economy though, because that extra resistance adds up to more fuel consumtion, and most of the time the fan does not need to run. Mine will normaly only turn on while sitting in stopped traffic for more than 5-10 minutes.
