Another thought additives in oil that were there to prevent wear on flat tappet cams such as zinc has been removed from most oils. This makes cam break-in a bit tougher. Be shurre to follow manufactures direction use there lobe and lifter coatings and oil additives. Run the engine at manufactures RPM sugestions Shell Rotilla 15 -40 diesel oil is one oil that hasnt changed yet but have been told its changing soon. Comp Cams has a warnig of this on there web site. The solution is the roller followers and flat tappets with special oil feed groves and holes also tools to grove the lifter bores in the engine.
