They also have a Syclone series (2500 cubic ft/min) that has been tested in desert driving conditions using a 500 HP vehicle, and engine temperatures never got above 180 degrees.

The 180 X-Treme might be overkill for your application, as it is made for very extreme conditions with highly modified 500+ horsepower engines.

Here is a link to an site that gives recommendations for specific vehicles.

I think the Syclone Series has a street price of around $100, while the X-Extreme in is the $175 range. This site also has information on the Syclone and other electric fans they offer.

I think I'm gonna go with the extreme. One can never have too much cooling... and I have dreams of forging and stroking the bottom end and adding a turbo, so I'll go with the extreme and pretend those dreams will pan out some day.

That's the way I feel as well....

As long as you are going to all the trouble to install one of these high capacity electric fans, might as well go with something that you won't have to replace or upgrade later on.

Oh- did I mention I have a 200amp alternator (actually puts out 196)? I could run one of those bad boys and a sick stereo and not even notice.

Yeah I also need to decide on a controller. I don't really have any need to use the high speed on the fan. I found a nice adjustable setup on ebay for like $60, and all I'd need to do is tie it into a relay. It taps right off the temperature guage sending unit and has an override for AC compressor. I might go with that but I'd really like to have something with soft start for that power hogger fan.
