Stupid Buttplug!!!!!!!!!

I changed the oil in GL today. After I pulled the front oil pan plug out, I realized that it had been stripped. :cuss: I remembered that four years earlier, it had been discovered by my grandpa, that a lube place had over torqued the plug and stripped it. As a quick fix, he JB welded it, and it held for the last four years, until I had unscrewed it. So, I drove like hell to town (my dad had to go to work several hours later) and got some of that Kwik JB Weld. I gooped up the plug, screwed it back down, and crossed my fingers. No leaks so far


When I go to do my engine build (who know when that will happen) I'm going to get a new pan.

Never used one, but they sell self-tapping oversized drainplugs at the parts stores.

Self tapping oil plugs would kinda get me nervous because of metal shavings getting into the pan

Get a cheap bottle of wine and get drunk while you change it next time, then shove the cork in place of the stripped plug

Get some, try it out on something. It is really good shit.

jb weld only held for 10 seconds on the small crack in my radiator, and thats 14psi

Driving to Pensacola, FL four years ago, I ran over a steel pipe and put two dime-sized holes in my gas tank. JB Welded the holes once the gas finished dumping (I hit the pipe a quarter mile after filling the tank, too) and it's held ever since.
