Can't remember if it makes any difference with a code reader, but what's the engine code for a Mark 7? I've got an Auto xray xp240 and need to check the codes on the wagon...Guess I gotta find the year of the ECM I'm using also....

HO motor Vin # is "E"
87-90 SD ECM's are all pretty much the same, in 91 Ford went to a 3 digit trouble code system.2003 Town Car Signature - 3.27 RAR, Dual exhaust and J-mod - SOLD 9/2011

ok... after doing some more research, it appears 87 year model HO motors were VIN "M". 88 and newer HO motors were VIN "E"
I dont really think it makes a difference when pulling codes.2003 Town Car Signature - 3.27 RAR, Dual exhaust and J-mod - SOLD 9/2011

It didn't... only got 2 codes....both for the recirc air that is disconnected. Nothing for the MAP or ECT. I'm going to swap the map with th eone out of my 87 and see how it does. I also need to redo the setup for the vacuum lines to get my cruise working again. I'll have to get creative.Builder/Owner of Badass Panther Wagons
