Ok its good to drive now!!! thanks to TommyN who came all the way ot and tuned the carb and timing. Thanks mang!!! It runs a heck of alot better, but it still has a few quirks that arent to big of a deal.
I still got a ping on heavy acceleration as I was driving it, I really noticed it. So I plugged the vacuum advance and it helped but I still got a slight one. I set the tv cable, but I had to cut off part of the cable cause it wasnt allowing the lever to fully move.
The only problem i got is that the car doesnt run to well when you get on it. It pings, then it bogs and then it sorta lunges back and forth like it wants to get going but it cant. I think its alot healthier at part throttle then at full

its set to 11* now
I shouldnt have to retard it more than that
:edit: I'm gonna try seafoaming it tomarrow after school and my workout and see if it helps.

No I didnt want to go that far as I wouldnt have a decent head to replace them with. hmm.... I'm gonna try a few things first and see what happens.

The total timing is 35 degrees BTDC with 11 degrees intial. It pulls a steady 13 inches vacuum at idle.
I asked Pete to check if it bogs going into WOT at higher RPMs or if it plain does not run right at WOT at all.
I set both float levels to the bottom of the site holes so float level should be good.
Verified total timing and that timing does advance with a dial back to zero timing light.
I did not disassemble the carb, but it is almost new. If I had to guess I would say it has all the stock calibration as far as jetting and secondary spring but you know what they say about assumptions.
If it just won't run right at WOT at higher RPM it could be a few different things in my opinion:
Insufficient fuel flow
Insufficient spark
Plugged exhaust
Bad valve springs
The cam is a healthy one for a 302. The specs from the Summit catalog are:
Intake 218 @ 0.050 .471 lift
Exhaust 228 @ 0.050 .471 lift
I am sure Mercmarquis will get it running tip top.

Just random ponderings, is it possible that the carb is simply too large to properly work on that motor? I mean if you've got factory restrictive smog crap heads that have lousy flow, coupled with a big cam and a fat carb, its not going to have enough airflow to make it work at WOT. Are you running stock duals with manifolds or do you have headers or what? If it can't exhaust properly, it also can't breath for crap (yes, I'm aware TommyN said this already). Personally I think 600 cfm is too large for a smallblock engine, but thats just my 2 cents. I will toss in a disclaimer of not having a whole lot of experience with building motors out of assorted parts so I could be dead wrong on this.
Oh, how is your vac advance hooked up? Is it to vacuum above the throttle plate that increases with throttle position, or are you running classic Ford style with full manifold vacuum so it acts as a timing retard at WOT? If you're running full vacuum, you may wish to consider switching to the other way.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Alrighty, I got new plugs and ran a can of seafoam through it. The old plugs were a light tanish pink colorIt doesnt ping any more but I still havent tried it with the vac advance put back on. I still got the dead spot on full throttle(I thought I was gonna get pulled over cause a cop was on my ass for about a mile.) It has more of that lurching/bucking now at full throttle. It also bogs bad when I floor it from a dead stop. The seafoam improve the throttle response a tad and it feels a bit better.
I raised my idle a tad cause it stalled this morning.
