Fan clutch options

Does anybody with a parts manual have a breakdown on what the different factory fan clutch part number's were (tow/police/hot climate/etc.)? I can dig them up on RockAuto but each of the aftermarket ones list a bunch of different Ford PN's. I prefer to buy NOS on Ebay and the like so knowing the exact Motorcraft PN is key.

Just the listing for the Hayden 2710 clutch (1987 5.0L "Standard Duty") lists E0MY8A616A, E0WY8A616A, E1AZ8A616A, E35Y8A616A, E3TZ8A616J, E45Y8A616B, E4SZ8A616A, E5AZ8A616A, E5AZ8A616B, E6AZ8A616A, E6AZ8A616B, E7TZ8A616A, E7TZ8A616G, EOMY8A616A, EOWY8A616A along with a bunch of 60's and 70's part numbers. I've seen F series PN's from the 90's trucks list with the same 8A616A/B base number so I don't think there are too many variations, I just don't understand why they would have reissued these numbers every year for an unchanged part.

Every fan clutch will have the same base number. I just needed one to find it in the manual, saves the bother of trying to find it in the listing. Here you go, direct from the 80-89 master parts manual, 1993 final publication date. Beware what you say about not thinking there are too many possibilities.



Sometimes the part number changes because the part changed in some meaningful way, sometimes its just a supplier change or some other trivial difference that doesn't actually matter. Unfortunately the parts manuals don't bother to explain exactly what the differences are.

Interesting, looks like they changed year to year more frequently than I would expect and just kept 2 variations per year in different applications. Thanks for all of the info! To Ebay I go!
