Hot weather Startup and idle issue

I looked around but did not find my exact scenario, if there is a thread covering it let me know.

'89 bone stock Grand marquis; 87k original

if the car is cold it starts right up no problem, started this morning and ran great.

Yesterday (Temps in the 100s for the first real time this year) we drove 15 minutes on the interstate, 10 minutes across town, and then parked in the sun. Ate lunch and came out; Car would fire up and die, fire up and die. I held the throttle down 1/4 and started it and fired up and ran but REALLY Rough, when I let off it died again. I did that a second time and it fired up and ran at 1/4 throttle for about 30 seconds; this time when I let off it stayed running. Car runs great otherwise and has plenty of power so i think the issue is only in the starting circuit. We drove another 10 minutes across town, let it sit about 10 minutes and when we came out it again had issues starting unless I held the throttle down 1/4; then it fired up and ran fine after about 30 seconds of holding the peddle down. we again drove across town, it was still hot out, shopped for 30 minutes but this time the car fired up and ran with no issues.

I have noticed an Idle surge, very slight, since I bought in January and I just have not taken time to diag the issue; I am curios if these issues are related. I also think the car idles a bit fast, but again I have not looked into it.

The issue appears to be Heat soak related, I started to think ICM/TFI but I am not convinced; I will probably replace that just because I don't trust them. I am also thinking maybe IAC, Intake Air sensor, or maybe just time for a cap and rotor????

I wouldn't think this was a fuel issue unless it was at the rail, and that rough running incident makes me think ignition more than fuel.

Wacky temp sensor(s) could be at fault.
The links for IAT (ACT) and ECT here should have info on how to check those sensors.

temperature sensor or maybe sticky IAC would be my guess too.

Just posted a similar question on my thread. I change the Spark plug, TFI, Iginition coil, the timing was adjusted and when I let the engine run in parking, the car turned off after about 10 minutes, when the car is hot, apparently. Reallly donīt know what is the problem since the problem seems to be the coil . Also runs great when my Colony Park is in movement....
