Fuel pump on w. ignition key off (Ford 5.0 1989 crown vic)

    Hi everybody,

I seem to have a small problem on my 89 LTD Crown Victoria. It is running fine, however I have noticed that the fuel pump remains permanently on, with or without ignition key.
Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?
I have read somewhere that it might be a grounded wire somewhere?

My 89 LTC did this a few times. Cycling the key on and off a few times did the trick. I changed the relay and it never did it again.

yeah I'd also go with bad relay. Probably the contacts welded together or the spring broke.

        +1 bad relay.

That was the cause of my overnight dead battery issue a while back, new relay and it's all good.

I like when problems resume to a 7 dollar relay +++
