very nice, I actually started taking that bolt out and then stopped when I unplugged the sensor. Pictures are the best, thanks.

You do not need to pull the speedo cable as is shown in my picture. Just take out that one bolt out and you will be able to pull the whole sensor out. There is a keeper clip on the bottom end of the gear, pull that off and put the new gear on, then re-insert and put the bolt back on.

started a topic speedometer gear question.

    speedometer gear question.

Okay, seeing as I just got through swapping a ring and pinion, you may be under the impression that I would be intelligent enough to figure this out but.

I went to switch the speedo gear to correct for the new ratio, and I was unable to do it. I found what looked like the speedo cable and unhooked it but instead of a gear, I found this brass 3" plunger thingie. What the hell. In my 4 wheelin days I changed many 'o' speedo gear, but this is different.

    Anyone who knows...

On a 1991 aod, where (I assumed the tailshaft area), how....??
Working...
