    Pressure building in fuel tank

Group have a problem with pressure building in fuel tank in my 90
Wagon. I had this in my old tank and now in the replacement tank.
So bad today it was coming out around the screw on gas cap and out the over flow pipe in the body.
    Any ideas?

probably the evap line is crushed/pinched shut or clogged. also, gas should not be getting forced out, only vapors. If gas is coming out... there's other issues.

+1 on that, the vapor vent valve on top of the tank could also be stuck shut. Unlikely, but if you have to pull the tank out try douching it out with carb cleaner. Pretty sure you will not be able to access it otherwise, its at the very top of the fuel tank.

Ok is the evap line running to anything?
And is pressure just normal in these tanks??
I can feel it push air/ fumes out as I unscrew the fuel cap

Some pressure is normal. Excessive pressure (crack open the cap and it hisses for more than 5 seconds) is not normal. The evap line goes to the charcoal canister under the battery and then to a solenoid behind the battery on the inner fender then to the intake manifold.

It goes out to the canister through a fitting on top of the tank that works almost exactly like a PCV valve. Thats the thing I mentioned that could be stuck if the evap lines aren't smashed. Could be that you can get in there to unhook it and shoot some carb cleaner in the hose, or maybe just apply vacuum to the system at the canister end of things to un-stick it.

              Thanks
So these lines run down the pass side frame?
              And just pull vaccum. from
The line and see if it pull up gas to it or ?

pressure and vent lines are on the passenger side.

find the vent line where it connects to a rubber line near where the front upper control arm mounts on the frame. See if you can pull vacuum, or if it seems like you're just pumping from an open line. If it pulls vacuum quickly, there is a blockage somewhere in the line between the pump and the tank. If it just seems like its doing nothing, then its not blocked. It won't pull fuel, the vapor connection is to the very top of the tank, above where the fuel level sits.
